  • The region is full of diverse activities to work off those two hour lunches. Hiking trails abound for novices and experts, and walking the hilltop villages offers a great calorie-burn. Cycling is a way of life in France and you can rent bicycles locally. The Tour de France in July is always within two hours. Tournon has its own tennis court next to the 'Stade' and there is great riding for all levels at several nearby stables. Golf is popular and beautiful 9 and 18 hole courses are within an hour's drive.
Swimming, Boating, and Fishing
  • The Lot River and surrounding lakes make this region a delight for all water-enthusiasts. Swimming lakes near Montcuq and Montaigu are perfect for children and offer beaches, playgrounds, and picnic facilities. Kayak, canoe, and paddle boat rentals are available at Puy l'Eveque, and Cahors, Luzech, and Penne d'Agenais offer larger boats for hourly or day trips. The Lot River is an angler's delight and is known for carp and catfish. A permit is required...purchase it online at www.cartedepeche.fr.
