  • For those who love architecture and quiet reflection, there are dozens of churches, cloisters, and abbeys to explore. Romanesque to Gothic, they can be found everywhere from tiny hamlets to major cities. The Cathedral of St. Stephen in Cahors and the St. Peter Abbey in Moissac top the list. The Collegiate Church in Montpezat-de-Quercy has opulent Flemish tapestries, but the little ones are our favorites, especially St. Sernin in Lauzerte and the Romanesque church in Montaigu-de-Quercy.
Medieval Villages and Castles
  • Exploring the medieval villages and castles nearby is a must. An infinite variety of villages abounds, each with its own unique attractions, and the entire region is a photographer's dream. Climb the ancient ruins of St. Cirq Lapopie or roam the castle keep at Château Bonaguil and imagine life in the 13th Century. The magnificent riverside village of La Roque Gagéac lies an hour away. Do not miss the incredible cliff-hanging village of Rocamadour with its September balloon festival.
Wine Tasting and Vineyards
